Right now, the United States has a workforce shortage of 1.7 million people.<\/h3>\n

President Trump and Congress have a historic opportunity to address our workforce shortage, and finally fix our immigration system\u2013something every previous administration has failed to do.<\/p>\n

We are calling on our leaders to work across the aisle to:<\/p>\n

Secure the border: <\/b>A secure and orderly border is necessary <\/span>while ensuring that those who come here to work and contribute do so through lawful and efficient channels.<\/span><\/p>\n

Stabilize our existing workforce: <\/b>Long-term immigrants who work and pay taxes are valued members of our communities and essential to our workforce. <\/span>A clear, practical and firm path to allow them to work legally – including Dreamers, farm workers, and essential workers in diverse industries – strengthens businesses and communities.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ensure employers have access to the talent they need: <\/b>Prioritize the admission of immigrants who possess the skills necessary to grow our economy and compete on the world stage.\u00a0 Expand avenues for workers to fill gaps in industries with acute labor shortages.<\/span><\/p>\n

Stand up for American Families:<\/b> Enable qualified immigrant workers to fill jobs not held by American workers so that employers can expand, creating new and quality opportunities for American workers and lowering prices.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Securing America\u2019s Workforce Means\u2026<\/h2>\n

HOSPITALITY<\/b>: Restaurants and hotels will continue to thrive, ready to welcome visitors and support local economies. With immigrants making up <\/span>21%<\/span><\/a> \u00a0of the hospitality workforce, their contributions help sustain the vibrant dining and tourism industries that fuel economic growth.<\/span><\/p>\n

CONSTRUCTION<\/b>: Homes and communities will continue to grow, with projects completed on time and at fair costs. With <\/span>28.6%<\/span><\/a> of construction workers being immigrants, they are essential to keeping up with demand, ensuring families and businesses have the spaces they need.<\/span><\/p>\n

HEALTHCARE<\/b>: Families will have the care they deserve, from hospitals to home health. Immigrants make up <\/span>18.2%<\/span><\/a> of all healthcare workers, including <\/span>26.5%<\/span><\/a> of physicians and surgeons, <\/span>16%<\/span><\/a> of registered nurses, <\/span>23.1%<\/span><\/a> of health care support staff, and nearly <\/span>36.5%<\/span><\/a> of all home health aids<\/span>\u2014ensuring quality care for aging parents and children.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

AGRICULTURE<\/b>: Our food supply remains secure and affordable, keeping grocery store shelves stocked and prices stable. Immigrants make up 40% of the agricultural workforce and over 70% of the dairy industry, ensuring that America continues to feed itself.<\/span><\/p>\n

MANUFACTURING AND STEM<\/b>: Innovation and industry continue to drive American progress, from factory floors to cutting-edge technology. With 90% of DACA recipients employed\u2014including in healthcare, construction, and technology\u2014they contribute $5.7 billion in taxes annually, strengthening the workforce that keeps America competitive.<\/span><\/p>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\t\t\t<\/div> \n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div> \n\n\t
